Configuring the Default Traffic Policy

When you created a service, the default traffic policy was automatically created for you. This policy is applied for the entire world. It is very similar to other traffic policies, except that you can edit this policy, but cannot delete it. The default policy is always applied for the entire world, i.e. it is applied for all the locations who don’t have a more specific traffic policy. The default policy can be either Static, Dynamic, or Cost-Based. Configuring the default traffic policy is very similar to creating a new traffic policy.

To configure the default policy:

  1. Navigate to your service.
  2. In the sidebar, under Traffic Steering, select Traffic Policies.
  3. Click on the Edit icon of the Default traffic policy.
  4. Follow the wizard steps to configure the policy.
